Optic Neuritis: Evaluation of Visual Acuity and Contrast Sensitivity. A Hospital Based Cross Sectional Study

Objective: To assess visual acuity and contrast sensitivity in various form of Optic neuritis patients. Study Design Settings: It was a hospital based cross sectional study conducted eye department Teaching hospital, University Lahore Pakistan. Total duration the 4 months from January 2022-April 2022. Methods: A total 32 patients were included study. Purposive sampling technique adopted for sampling. Patients age 15-45 detailed examination done presented to with pain evaluated optic neuritis, demographics along clinical signs symptoms documented using proforma. Results: having Neuritis. Mean 29 ±8.3SD (Range 15-45). The divided into further sub-divisions, i.e. Pappilits 11 patients, Retrobulbar Neuritis 14 neuroretinitis 7 paired t test comparing before after treatment showed significance .03 improvement treatment. In spite fact that results demonstrated did not return normal, they show prompt treatment, substantial possible. Same .02 found VA post-operatively when applied. Conclusion: Vision both are affected ON, however can be improved normal vision but seldom improve its value.
